Excitingly, we just surpassed forty languages. In fact, Bible teaching is now being shared in 42 languages! As this Bible teaching goes out, it will empower discipleship and change lives.
Heralds of Hope has been working toward a goal of supporting Bible teaching in two hundred languages in the next ten years. This is central to our larger vision of using media to make disciples of Jesus Christ—and we cannot do it alone. We partner with others to support and implement Bible teaching in the heart languages of people around the world.
How Are These Languages Shared?
Sharing Biblical teaching in other languages looks different depending on the region and context. For example, Heralds of Hope:
- Partners with radio stations or studios that translate and contextualize our Bible teaching before broadcasting it locally. We send English scripts of our Bible teaching on a specific book of the Bible, and these scripts are the basis for the program they produce in the desired language.
- Partners with organizations that use video and social media to share Bible teaching. In these cases, our scripts are being used to create Bible teaching videos. These videos are posted where they are available anytime from anywhere.
- Supports existing media ministries. Through our resources and financial backing, these ministries can continue producing biblical teaching. These partners are not using our script, but we are excited to come alongside them as they create biblical teaching in other languages. Using media, making disciples.
Heralds of Hope walks alongside others to produce and distribute Bible teaching that touches people in their heart language. Our goal is to do this using the most effective means possible. In some places, that is radio. Other areas have internet access and cell phones. In some areas, people use their phone to call in and listen to our teaching.
Recent Developments: New Languages in India
We have been supporting Bible teaching in India for years, and recently we were able to add to the languages in which our teaching is being produced. We have been working with our partners in India to implement these three languages into Bible teaching on YouTube:
- Telugu
- Odia
- Urdu
Below are photos from the launch of these new YouTube channels! Several members of our team joined the launch virtually to share and connect with our ministry partners in India.
Would you pray with us that this Bible teaching could impact those who hear it? We want to see the Gospel move into new places and bring hope to the hearts of hurting people everywhere.
