In the past few months, God has opened an amazing door of opportunity for HOH-Canada. By God’s grace and in answer to many prayers, we’ve been able to secure a one-hour time slot on the Wawatay Radio Network between 1 and 2pm every Sunday!
The Wawatay Radio Network (Waawaate Nandotamowin) is a network of stations in northwestern Ontario that broadcasts news, talk, and sports, as well as local and popular music. Native languages and English are both heard, often mixed together. In many First Nations communities, the local WRN transmitter is the only station that can be heard clearly in their community.
We are partnering with a ministry called Without Reservation, which “exists to see Native North Americans following Jesus Christ without reservation… because He deserves worship from every tribe and nation”. You can visit them online at www.withoutreservation.org
Here’s how the hour is being filled: Without Reservation and Nations One for Christ have a combined half-hour program that features Storyteller and an Ojibwe Bible reading program. Both are normally stand-alone programs which are a quarter-hour each and air separately on different stations. A few years ago, Storyteller was offered thirty minutes on the Manitoba native network. Since then, they have this 1/2 hour combined version that Wawatay is now airing along with our programming, The Voice of Hope.
Kent Frazier, founder of Without Reservation, says, “Through you, He is making it possible for the Storyteller to be on the air in northwestern Ontario. Your investment in this hour of programming is enabling us to do something we couldn’t do without God’s help. What a blessing! We are so grateful God has provided this opportunity. May He bless the programs and may there be much fruit for His glory.”
One hour of programming on this network costs $225.00 each week, or $11,700.00 annually. For more information, feel free to contact us!
