Merry Christmas! During this special time of year, we worship God for sending his Son to live among us—”The word became flesh and dwelt among us.” In this episode, we celebrate the birth of the Savior with a variety of musical selections that focus on different aspects of His coming to earth as a baby. So, I invite you to sit back, worship, and ponder the meaning of the Incarnation.

Thank you, men. Music is a wonderful gift that God has given to us. Music expresses the whole range of human emotions, but especially JOY! And it is one of the reasons why I enjoy this season of the year so much.
Regular listeners know we often deviate from our usual exposition from Scripture at this special time of year. As Anthony said, today, we’ll celebrate the birth of the Savior with a variety of musical selections that focus on different aspects of His coming to earth as a baby.
So, I invite you to sit back, reflect, and worship with me as we ponder the meaning of the Incarnation afresh – the Word became flesh and lived among us. What joy that should bring to us.
Joy to the World
You know, this wonderful song, which is very popular at Christmas, looks forward to a future time when sin and sorrow are banished, and Christ rules the world with truth and grace. What a glorious thought! But you can’t have that future time without the Incarnation. So, let’s worship together with the following four songs.
It’s Christmas Time
Still, Still, Still
Infant Holy, Infant Lowly
Noel, We Sing
You know, the miracle of the Incarnation is so amazing! That God would veil Himself in human flesh defies human logic. The powerful condescending to the powerless? That’s not how the world works! But that’s how God works. We know our lives have been transformed because Christ was born! He is Emmanuel – God with us.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel
One Small Child
Another amazing reality of the Incarnation is that while Jesus is no longer here physically, He’s here in the person of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit lives in the heart of every genuinely born-again disciple of Jesus. So, let’s join the men asking Jesus to reveal Himself to the world through us, His children.
Be Born in Us
I hope these music selections have blessed you. And I hope you have had, or will have, the privilege of gathering with family and friends over this special time of the year.
And remember too, that for some people, this time of year is difficult. The recent loss of a loved one, financial hardship, or strained relations with family can make this time a challenge. If you know people in those situations, ask God how you can help bring them cheer and encouragement. Be willing to share the gifts God has given you to bless others.
