Moving the Needle on 200 Languages

If you have been following HOH, you’re aware of our ambitious goal of reaching 200 languages in 10 years. While we still have a long journey ahead, we’re making significant strides. The addition of several new languages is a testament to our progress, and we’re excited to share this summary with you.

Lozi Language Goes Live

For 2025, we’re introducing the Lozi language in Zambia. This radio broadcast, in partnership with One Love Radio, is a significant step towards engaging the Lozi-speaking community in western Zambia. We’re also happy to continue our partnership with One Love Radio, who also broadcasts our Bemba language.

Mandarin Chinese Airs in Zambia

In Lusaka, Zambia, there is a significant Chinese population, so they have decided to use our Mandarin teaching to engage these listeners. We have enjoyed working with One Love Radio, and seeing both projects go “on air” has been exciting.

Two New Languages in Ghana

When our partner from Ghana visited, we learned that he was using HOH scripts and preparing them for two pastors. One is using the script to do a radio program in Ewe, and the other is teaching in Nzema. Both of these are small FM stations where pastors visit the station studio to teach “live” from a prepared script. We thank God that our scripts can be used in this way and would love to replicate this in many other places.

Portuguese-Creole Begins in Mozambique

In the spring of 2025, our Portuguese-Creole broadcast went live. On the list of most spoken languages in the world, Portuguese is 8th. Currently, this is being broadcast in Mozambique; Lord willing, we will be able to use this broadcast in other areas where Portuguese is spoken.

Four Languages Launch in India

As we announced in a previous post, there are several new languages in India, including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and English. Instead of a radio broadcast, these languages are going out as videos on YouTube. These videos, we believe, will be a valuable resource for Christians as they study the book of John. Unlike radio, these videos will not disappear after they are heard once, and they will be accessible anytime in any order you choose, potentially transforming the way people engage with the scriptures.

This is a new and exciting chapter for HOH, and we’re confident that God can use this medium to share the good news and make disciples. We’re grateful for your support and ask for your prayers as we embark on this journey. Your advice and suggestions are always welcome, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Along with these three new languages in India, we continue to broadcast in Hindi and Telugu. Both languages are partially sponsored, but we are looking for more partners to adopt these languages and the required costs. Learn more about language adoption and how you can help fulfill the Great Commission in your lifetime!
