Small Ways to Make a Big Impact

christian blogs small ways to make abig impact

In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon records the following: There was a little city with few men in it; and a great king came against it, besieged it, and built great snares around it. Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man.

I think this little account is instructive. Here, the man provided an invaluable service, but because he was not wealthy, his contribution was quickly forgotten.

In our “size matters” culture, people who don’t have many resources can fall into the trap of thinking that because their contribution is small it is unimportant.  Nothing could be farther from the truth. We have many donors whose smaller monthly gifts provide the “backbone” of our financial structure.

Here are some ministry opportunities you can participate in with very little money, some require no money, just some time.

1. Give the gift of a Bible to someone in another country – Cost = $5.00
2. Get a “missionary” bank for your children and teach them how small gifts can have a big impact. (We have a few banks available).
3. Provide a solar powered radio for a person in rural Africa who has no access to internet, etc. Each unit costs $17.00.
4. PRAY! This opportunity requires only two things, neither of them is money. First, you need time. Second, you need information so you can pray intelligently/effectively. We can supply you with ample resources to pray effectively.
5. Bring a small group (8-10 people) to our offices and spend a couple of hours inserting our newsletter (this need reoccurs every 6 weeks).

If you have questions about any of these opportunities, contact us at [email protected] or call 717-485-4021.
