How precious is your Bible?
God gave us an amazing opportunity to provide Bibles in areas where Bibles are hard to find or purchase. In 2022, we distributed over 80,000 Bibles and are on track to meet our goal of 100,000 by year-end. We would like to distribute another 100,000 next year, Lord willing! These Bible orders will cost approximately $500,000.
Here at year-end, we aim to raise $200,000 to cover the remaining costs for 2022 and give us a good start for 2023. To accomplish this, we have several Bible projects in various stages of development.
How many languages can we send?
Portuguese Creole: Through an organization called Training2Send, we can print and deliver Bibles to the country of Guinea-Bissau in western Africa. Bibles are rare and almost non-existent in this country!
French: HOH is partnering with Equipping the Saints to print and ship 21,000 French Bibles to countries in west Africa.
Swahili: In 2021, HOH printed Swahili-language Bibles for our contact in Kenya. All of them have been distributed, and another 10,000 are in process for Tanzania and Kenya.
Chichewa: If you have followed HOH updates, you know about the Chichewa Bibles we printed and distributed in 2022. The process went well and amazingly fast, so we promptly placed another order! 12,000 Bibles should arrive in Malawi at the beginning of 2023.
India: We have purchased Bibles in-country in India and placed them with our partners in the country, but we have not printed Bibles in India. Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, and Malayalam are the languages we usually buy.
As Christians, we know the Bible is precious and valuable. We agree with the Psalmist, “The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.” We thank God that Bibles are readily available to us at very affordable prices. We aim to raise $200,000 to cover the remaining costs for 2022 and give us a good start for 2023.
