Finding What Really Matters

Isa 12:2  Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.

In this day of wokeness, cancellations, and hyper political correctness, we are on the precipice of permanently losing sight of what really matters… GOD. He is our starting point. As our Creator, He determined the needs of each individual, the proper way to treat each other, and the moral parameters within which all of us must operate. Recognition of these realities is our only hope of deliverance…of salvation.

The culture around us is shrieking out their right to self-determination, thinking that will bring peace and happiness. The truth is, God has given us that right to choose. We can choose how we will respond to everything He has instituted. However, He also retains the right to make the final judgement.

Contrary to popular belief, self-determination will never bring the internal rest, that song in the heart. The starting point for inner peace is surrender to our Maker—what He has already determined for us. As we embrace these realities and lose ourselves in fellowship with Him, we will experience His strength, His song, His salvation.

God foresees everything. His plans are already in motion. He knows what we will choose and what purposes He can best accomplish through us. Yet His knowledge of us, lofty as it is, is not some cold calculation, but He acts out of love and a desire for us to seek that which is good.
