“Cup of Cold Water” Ministries

I would like to invite you to take a peek into my time of devotions the other morning. I was reading from Matthew 25:31-46.  When I read verse 31, I saw an awesome entourage of Jesus in His glory and all His holy angels with Him. I’m thinking, Wow! How can I be a part of that group?  I read on.  Two words stood out to me, “Come” and “depart.  How can I become part of that “Come” group?  From the list of things Jesus says, the “Come, ye blessed” are those who truly care for people.  Jesus said in Matthew 10:42, “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones…”

As I ponder the beginning of a new school year and my little part of all that goes into the public school system, my job is to safely transport them from their house to their school.  But I try to see the bigger picture.  If you would happen to drive through Mifflinburg, PA, and meet a big yellow school bus; I wish, instead of the big words “School Bus,” you would see “Cup of Cold Water Ministries.”  Giving my school children a “cup of cold water” is something I can do to be a part of the crowd who hears those words “Come, ye blessed.”  I want to give those children an opportunity to be part of that crowd as well.

By the way, that is a great reason to be partnering with Heralds of Hope.  We at Heralds of Hope offer that “cup of cold water” to many who are thirsty.  God bless you as you take the opportunity to bring hope and refreshment to those around you.
