Hans Brinker, or The Silver Skates

All this cold wintry weather is causing people to talk about ice skating. Of course, they won’t be racing on a frozen Dutch canal, but we can find out what happens when Hans and his sister, Gretel, join the competition!

Hans and Gretel live in Holland where one of the popular pastimes is ice skating. Their story centers around a local speed race in which the winner will receive a pair of silver skates. The siblings have other adventures with their friends and learn to support their family in a time of great need. In this winter tale of joy and hardship, Hans and Gretel experience the rewards of mercy and compassion.

Who wins the silver skates?
