In a letter to the Jewish exiles in Babylon, the prophet Jeremiah wrote these words, “For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you and cause you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:10-13
God had (and has) a plan for Israel’s future. He has a plan for your future. He has a plan for the future of Heralds of Hope (HOH) too. In the past few months, our Board and Administrative Team have been wrestling with what God’s plan is for HOH. We are praying, calling on Him, and seeking His will. As He guides, we are refining our Vision, Mission, and Values and creating policies to guide us into the future.
We’re also developing a ten-year plan that includes some exciting and ambitious goals. We’re convinced that now isn’t the time to draw back in fear or timidity. Our enemy, Satan, is bold for his kingdom. As God’s people, we too, must be bold–for Christ and the Gospel.
Recently, our Admin Team spent a day and a half meeting with *TWR (Trans World Radio) leadership about working together to achieve our 10-year goals. They were very excited and open to our proposal and pledged to help us meet those goals, even if it includes other organizations. We came away from the meetings inspired and encouraged by their response.
We live in an age characterized by rapid technological developments that enable us to reach more people with the Gospel at less cost per contact. Oh, and by the way, some of those technological developments involve radio signals. So, the next time someone tells you that radio is obsolete, please tell them to call this number, 866-960-0292. I will be happy to correct their misunderstanding.
As we move through this next year, you will learn more details about these exciting plans for the future! We hope your future will include being a part of those plans.
*We partner with Trans World Radio on 18 of our 21 language programs.
